Come out this Thursday to say NO MORE JAILS!
6-8pm @ Resource Center for Nonviolence (612 Ocean St)
This community forum is a follow-up to the April 6th speakout and march, intended to continue the struggle against jails and prisons through education and collective organization. Sin Barras will provide an overview of what’s currently happening around CA prisons and realignment policies, and then we will split into three groups to discuss:
– Immigration and deportation
– Criminalization of poverty
– Conditions inside the county jail
Group discussion will be facilitated by a community member who is currently working on the issue, but the meeting will be run democratically and non-hierarchically so every voice is heard. We encourage everyone who has a story to share or who is simply concerned with the mass injustices taking place in our community to attend.
Let’s get organized!
Attached are our bilingual flyers, spread them far and wide.

Project Regeneration and F*WORD, Feminists Working on Real Democracy, have organized a film and speaker series titled Resist Rape Culture. We hope to complicate the conversation surrounding rape through offering different perspectives of sexualized abuse including the experiences of people of color and people in the military. We will be showing two films, No! The Rape Documentary and The Invisible War, and holding a speakers’ panel.
Please join us at the Resource Center for Nonviolence, 612 Ocean St, from 7-9pm on the following dates.
April 18th – No! The Rape Documentary
May 9th – The Invisible War – Skype Q&A with Filmmaker Kirby Dick
May 30th – Speakers Panel – Ann Simonton & more!
